Training

The Training Division encompasses all training related activities. Two department members, certified as Fire Instructors are assigned as the Training Officer and Assistant Training Officer. On-duty members are required to conduct training daily under the supervision of the Shift Commander.

Group trainings are conducted daily by on duty members. Drills are assigned to the company officers by the Training Division.

Training Tower

The Auburn Fire Rescue Department has its own training facility, which includes an indoor and outdoor classroom, four-story training/burn tower, and several props including basement fire, roof ventilation, technical rescue, search & rescue and wall breach. The training facility was purchased through a regional FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) and is utilized regularly by Fire District 7 departments, and is also available to rent to outside departments.

Any departments conducting live fire training in our facility must have am AFRD Site Manager and follow the AFRD Live Burn Policy.
